The loss
of Orlando Pace is a massive deal to
the Rams because he protects Bulger’s
blind side and rips apart gaps for Steven
Jackson. St. Louis looked unusually anemic
on offense managing 162 passing yards while
Jackson rushed for an astoundingly low
76 yards with two glaring fumbles.
The 49ers
didn’t show much punch
against a terrible Arizona Cardinals team
and Alex Smith looked like he couldn’t
start a fire with a pack of matches and
a starter log. Luckily, the Rams rush defense
looks abysmal allowing 186 yards on the
ground. Frank Gore is going to expose this
weak front seven all day long.
That will eventually open up gaps for
Smith to use Vernon Davis who will lead
the 49ers in receptions and yards this
weekend. Meanwhile, Torry Holt will have
just as much trouble as Larry Fitzgerald
did getting open against the tandem of
Walter Harris and Nate Clements in the
secondary. Bet on a big upset for the darlin
49ers as the Rams continue the freefall
that began last Sunday.
